Rob Tate
Meet Rob Tate, Head of Governance, Planning, and Risk at ParalympicsGB. Rob will be speaking on our board evaluations panel.
Rob Tate has worked in Sports Governance for over a decade, supporting a wide range of NGBs, Sports Clubs, and other sporting organisations to improve their governance and organisational health.
During his time at the Sport and Recreation Alliance, Rob supported drafting and review of the Principles of Good Governance for Sport and Recreation and the Governance and Leadership Framework for Wales (GLFW). He delivered training and consultancy on a range of governance-related topics to Alliance members across the UK, as well as supporting Sport Wales funded organisations to implement the GLFW. Rob went on to join the Governance team at UK Sport where he supported Governing Bodies of Olympic and Paralympic sport, as well as UK Sport's wider sector partners, to implement A Code for Sports Governance and develop effective Organisational Health. He played a key role in producing the revised second edition of the Code, launched in 2021, and in administering the UK Sport Continuity Fund, launched in 2020 to help address adverse financial and operational impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic across the high-performance sector.
In 2022, Rob joined ParalympicsGB, the National Paralympic Committee for Great Britain and Northern Ireland. As Head of Governance, Planning, and Risk, Rob is responsible for overseeing governance and compliance, risk management, business continuity planning, and the organisation's inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility work, among a range of other responsibilities. Between Autumn 2022 and Spring 2024, this included management of a UK Sport Finance and Governance Assurance review as well as an externally facilitated Board Performance Review and Skills Audit.
