Greg Spencer
Meet Greg Spencer, NED at Paddle UK & Governance Manager at UK Deaf Sport. Greg will be speaking on our panel about the Clean Water Sports Alliance and Sports Advocacy.
In November 2018, Greg was one of a host of volunteers at the British Canoeing Charter Launch from a Terrace Dining Room in Westminster in support of fair, shared, sustainable open access for all — and he’s been actively involved in advocacy around these themes everywhere from riverbanks to the Board of Paddle UK.
By June 2023, with — with the Covid 19 Pandemic having shaped a focus on how blue space matters for our health and wellbeing — Greg was back in Westminster for the re-launch of British Canoeing’s Access & Environment Charter — since when, huge strides have been made, culminating in the recent Outdoor Recreation & Access to Nature APPG report entitled “Outdoors For All – Recommendations For Government.”
Having been on the Board of Paddle UK since 2022, Greg will bring a Director’s perspective to our panel session exploring the role of advocacy in improving and maintaining access to sport in the UK.
