BUCS Governance Transformation Programme: Delivering Clarity, Confidence & Compliance
Over the past year, BUCS has delivered an ambitious governance reform, strengthening safeguarding, modernising its Articles of Association, and achieving full compliance with A Code for Sports Governance.
Highlights include a sector informed safeguarding review, a new digital reporting tool, and collaborative policy development with members. BUCS also overhauled its constitutional framework to improve clarity, agility, and organisation sustainability—culminating in unanimous approval of revised Articles in July 2025. These reforms have enhanced transparency, accountability, and member trust—positioning BUCS as a leader in governance excellence across higher education sport.
