Overview
Many sports organisations want to attract a broader and more diverse range of candidates, but struggle to know where to begin.
Too often, recruitment relies on the same networks, the same advertising methods and the same language, resulting in a limited candidate pool and missed opportunities to bring new skills, experiences and perspectives into the organisation.
This practical webinar explores how sports organisations can improve the way they market vacancies, board positions and trustee opportunities, without needing a huge recruitment budget or an internal HR team. We will look at the simple changes organisations can make to their job adverts, role descriptions, recruitment messaging and outreach, helping them reach beyond the usual candidates and create a process that feels more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive.
The session will focus on practical actions that organisations can implement immediately, while also helping attendees understand the broader value of inclusive recruitment.
Key Takeaways
Attendees will leave the session with:
- A clearer understanding of why traditional recruitment methods often attract the same types of candidates
- Practical ways to improve job adverts, board vacancies and trustee recruitment messaging
- Guidance on where and how to promote opportunities beyond existing networks
- A better understanding of how language, requirements and recruitment clichés can unintentionally exclude people
- Simple ways to make recruitment communications more accessible and inclusive
- Greater confidence in attracting a broader, more relevant and higher-quality candidate pool
