Chris leads the work to strengthen the Active Partnership network’s governance by working with Chairs, Boards and executive leadership to embed good governance in its culture. He is curious about how good governance can enable effective strategic delivery, bringing real purpose to the support provided to Active Partnerships to make an impact in their places through their governance practice.
He brings to the role over 20 years of experience in the sports sector, operating at regional and national level in grassroots football as a former County FA CEO and more recently his work at The FA focused on cascading a Code of Governance across the country.
Chris is passionate about all sport and physical activity; he is an avid Nottingham Forest supporter, a keen cyclist, gym goer and dedicated dog walker. His other special interests are 1980s music and making focaccia (other breads are available!).
